Many authors, (Laughren, 2000; Ellison & Akdeniz, 1998; CyberAngels, 1999; Dean, 2000; Ogilvie, 2000) have defined cyberstalking, as the use of electronic communication including, pagers, cell phones, emails and the internet, to bully, threaten, harass, and intimidate a victim. Moreover, (AARDVARC) defines cyberstalking as nothing less than emotional terrorism.

Cyberstalking can take many forms’. However, Ellison (1999) suggests, cyberstalking can be classified by the type of electronic communication used to stalk the victim and the extent to which the communication is private or public. Ellison (1999) has classified cyberstalking as either ‘direct’ or ‘indirect’. For example, ‘direct’ cyberstalking includes the use of pagers, cell phones and the email to send messages of hate, obscenities and threats, to intimidate a victim. Direct cyberstalking has been reported to be the most common form of cyberstalking with a close resemblance to offline stalking (Wallace, 2000). For example, the majority of offline stalkers will attempt to contact their victim, and most contact is restricted to mail and/or telephone communications. Additionally, direct cyberstalking is claimed to be the most common way in which cyberstalking begins. For example, Working to Halt Online Abuse (2000) show the majority of online harassment/cyberstalking begins by the email.

Firstly, the ‘simple obsessional’ group accounts for the majority of stalkers. In general, the simple obsessional stalker has had a prior relationship with the victim and is motivated to stalk with the aim to re-enter the relationship or gain revenge once the relationship has been dissolved. Mullen, et al, (1999) claims, the majority of simple obsessional stalkers have some form of personality disorder and as a group have the greatest potential to become violent. On the other hand, the ‘love obsessional’ group accounts for the second largest group of stalkers. The love obsessional stalker usually has never met their victim. Victims by and large, are chosen through the internet or media (Zona etal, 1993) and most offenders will have a diagnosable mental disorder (Nicastro, Cousins & Spitzberg, 2000). Finally, the ‘erotomanic’ group accounts for the smallest population of stalkers. The erotomanic stalker is motivated to stalk by the belief that the victim is in love with them as a result of active delusions (Zona et al, 1993)."

Cyber stalking/bullying

"With the internet becoming increasingly public, societies adaption to social media has also led to the increase of cyber crime, the most common from internet stalking/bullying.  Stalkers use their technological connections to harass a person or group through a variety of methods that are not limited to: false accusations, obsessive monitoring, mimicking or stealing ones identity, threatening, soliciting sexual activities, plagiarism of the victim's content and unique ideas, gathering information for future attacks and/or breeching computer security to hack or gain IP address. The drive of the cyber stalker is to cause distress to their victim(s) while gaining personal pleasures through unreasonable justifications. While most novice cyber stalkers pose no threat, other than that of annoyance; the criminal actions of cyber stalking have led to sexually motivated crimes, kidnapping and death."

Cyber stalkers find their victims through various mediums such as social networking sites, search engins, online forums, message boards, chat rooms, or through electronic mail.

Cyber stalkers behave with hateful mannerisms such as the defaming their character to damage the victim's reputation, (see bottom image from Chris Smith at Portland Transport) contacting those connected with the victim in attempts to falsely accuse them with the hope that others turn against their victim, and/or creating fictitious accusations that are publicly posted on various social mediums online.

Remember, you did not cause bullying to happen. We've broken down the major reasonswhy bullies bully. The primary reason bullying occurs so frequently in workplaces is that bullying is not yet illegal. Bullying is four times more common than either sexual harassment or racial discrimination on the job.

Should you confront the bully? If you could have, you would have. Instead, use the WBI-suggested 3-Step Method. Remember, put your health first. Don't believe the lies told about you. Spend time with loved ones and friends. At times of debilitating stress like this, you must not be isolated. Isolation will only make the stress worse.

As we said, to date, no U.S. state has passed an anti-bullying law for the workplace.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN ABUSER GETS EXPOSED

When an abuser is exposed, be it Cyber Stalking and or Domestic / Emotional abuse,  they loose it!  They'll do everything in their power to discredit the victim, make the victim appear to have mental problems. In my situation, once I put the online bullying together with domestic abuse and once I started realizing how many others in the world were just as affected by it as I was, I turned my focus to educating and supporting them through this Blog, MY VOICE via my journey.  I attempted to get present laws enforced and new ones written. Once I exposed my abuser by using his name and image he attacked.  Many websites devoted to protecting victims from Cyber Stalking recommended publishing their image as a means of stopping their behaviors. Reason being that in Cyber Stalking, unlike some of the more traditional traits associated with stalking, the perpetrator hides behind a monitor. Bringing their face to light creates unwanted attention to someone who for all other intents and purposes appears to blend into the community as a good neighbor, father, co-worker, husband...

Similar to Domestic Abuse perpetrators. Difference being Domestic abuse perpetrators aren't in hiding except perhaps from family and friends of the victim.  In many ways Cyber abuse is more life threatening because you can't get a restraining order for internet harassment including threats, you don't know who's doing it to you, you don't know if it's limited to the internet or if it ends up being a co-worker or the cashier from the grocery store. Their followers, the ones who make derogatory comments about you are in most probability more dangerous because they want to protect the Stalker from you.  They believe him when he says you are in fact victimizing him.  There are several links to articles throughout this blog and this posting which explain the dichotomy of abuse. If you haven't experienced it you won't relate but it's never too late to learn.

This is one of many screen shots from Margulies' Blog. He gets thousands of views weekly so this is the ultimate in slander.  It's frequented by Trimet employees from front line workers to support staff / Managers / on up the hierarchy to General Manager Neil McFarlane and back down again to our riders and the public.  His attacks were slanderous, attacking my mental state. They were on-going, repetitious and lasted from the middle of 2009 until present. He's taken on 'others' like Lane Jensen to attack through Cyber space.  They changed the 'mind-sets' of many, mostly co-workers who never met or talked with me. It affected all aspects of my professional and private life.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), a type ofanxiety disorder, is a potentially disabling illness that traps people in endless cycles of repetitive thoughts and behaviors. People with OCD are plagued by recurring and distressing thoughts, fears, or images (obsessions) that they cannot control. The anxiety (nervousness) produced by these thoughts leads to an urgent need to perform certain rituals or routines (compulsions). The compulsive rituals are performed in an attempt to prevent the obsessive thoughts or make them go away.

Although the ritual may make the anxiety go away temporarily, the person must perform the ritual again when the obsessive thoughts return. This OCD cycle can progress to the point of taking up hours of the person's day and significantly interfering with normal activities. People with OCD may be aware that their obsessions and compulsions are senseless or unrealistic, but they cannot stop themselves.

Not sure how many views he gets these days but the most recent number I found was 6178,  from a 7 day period in February 24, 2013. Margulies' Blog incites the public, the community and Trimet employees against his victims or targets.

"Collectively known as defamation, libel and slander are civil wrongs that harm a reputation; decrease respect regard, or confidence; or induces disparaging, hostile, or disagreeable opinions or feelings against an individual or entity. The injury to one's good name or reputation is affected through written or spoken words or visual images. The laws governing these torts are identical.

To recover in a libel or slander suit, the plaintiff must show evidence of four elements: that the defendant conveyed a defamatory message; that the material was published, meaning that it was conveyed to someone other than the plaintiff; that the plaintiff could be identified as the person referred to in the defamatory material; and that the plaintiff suffered some injury to his or her reputation as a result of the communication.

To prove that the material was defamatory, the plaintiff must show that at least one other person who saw or heard it understood it as having defamatory meaning. It is necessary to show not that all who heard or read the statement understood it to be defamatory, but only that one person other than the plaintiff did so. Therefore, even if the defendant contends that the communication was a joke, if one person other than the plaintiff took it seriously, the communication is considered defamatory."

In the meantime, you three might wanna get your heads together and figure out how you're gonna prove my mental condition to a Judge or even your own defense team!

Not sure how many views he gets these days but the most recent number I found was 6178,  from a 7 day period in February 24, 2013. The Blog tends to incite members of the public, community and Trimet riders / employees against his victims.  Additionally, he reblogs many of these articles to his Facebook and twitter accounts which triggers interest from folks who would otherwise not be aware of it.

Additionally, three  members approached me volunteering to testify against Henry should I decide to pursue this in the court system. All of them said, when asked what his problem was with me, "She's crazy"!!  One of 'em said he kept repeating it, in front of others.  Henry appears to base his opinions of others with Margules' opinion. In my experience, Beasley appears to want to 'fit in', not develop his own experiences with others. Not a free thinker.  

BEASLEY'S involvement is troubling but not any more so than Christopher Raphael Days'.

They're BOTH running for one of the 3 top Union positions.

Day's running for Vice President.

Beasley's running for President.

Day files Preferring of Charges (Blackballing members) as fast as he can.  He even filed 'em against Dan Martin, one of his VP competitors and President Bruce Hansen.  'If you can't wow 'em with a principled intelligent campaign then blackball 'em the hell out of yer way!'  

Henry Beasley signed the petitions for Day, then went through this incredible disappearing act when members asked him Y or N did you sign it?!!  In the end, a day later he finally fessed up after the heat was on!

If you can't negotiate your personal problems with someone other than by attempting to blackball them out of the Union, then you can't negotiate. Probably not a good choice for office. 

Besides the Preferring of Charges, Beasley and Day support and  campaign on a site that allows the degradation of women.
