DOES HENRY BEASLEY SUPPORT WOMEN BASHING OR NOT??

I'm not linking to Margulies Blog anymore. You all know where you can find him if you need trash talk.

I am however,  linking to these:

WARNING - FIRST LINK - X-RATED LANGUAGE

With this most recent commentary Beasley proves yet again he continues to support "a site that allows for the degradation of women."

UPPING IT TO $300.00 CASH

Regarding my request for Arbitration to the Union Executive Board of ATU 757

No one jumped at my offer to give them a hundred bucks to prove their claim that I deserved the reprimands I received for allegedly calling All Margulies names. Violations of HR 171 and HR 202.

I brought documents proving my defense. They weren't interested.

They said they had proof of their own but wouldn't show it in the meeting. They made no attempt to show it through my e-mail or through comments on this posting. Either they don't have it or one hundred dollars wasn't enough.  I know what I write. I'm not into lowering myself through name calling, at least not yet. My Blog postings regarding Margulies has always been my voice from the abuse, my journey and educational material about Cyber Stalking such as how to identify it, protect yourself and typical character traits of the abuser/s.

Soooo

I'M UPPING IT TO $300.00 CASH

Put your proof where your mouth is!

Update, Mary Longoria jumped at the opportunity. She said Jeff Ackerson voted "NO" and followed it with a diatribe about how I too was violating policy by calling Margulies names. He advised voting Officers to vote it down. He said

IS SHIRLEY BLOCK QUALIFIED??

She must be looking for a new position in light of the election challenge.

I can't see any other reason why she'd turn on a Union Member as she did in this instance with Dan Martin.

It's a screen shot from an article she wrote regarding the allegations against Martin that were done and over with a couple 'a months ago.  It appears it's from something she sent to Trimet then copied on to Al Margulies as he's her PR person.

Martin's a Union member, same as she. Since when does the President of a Union slander another member as she's done here and so publicly?  Does he get equal time?  I asked him if she talked with him about it and he said, "No."

 WOW

INSUBORDINATION OR RETALIATION ***updated

***UPDATED***

March 9th, Saturday around 10:30pm, I was driving outbound to Gresham.  While enroute at speed limit with a full standing load, a car suddenly ran a stop sign within a foot or two from the front of the bus. I slammed the brakes to avoid killing him but threw passengers into each other.  I called dispatch.  ****The dispatcher sounded as though he had just woke up from a nap. I had an opportunity to talk with him yesterday and day before. Each time he answered as though he had just woke up. I realized this is how he answers.  Dispatch is all about multi-tasking, he could've had a couple other calls going on at the same time.  I apologize for making the accusation.  He asked if there were injuries. I didn't know at that point. He asked that I continue driving to Gresham if there weren't.  I stated that I was shaken up and for safety reasons needed time to recover.  Plus the incident was serious enough that it needed a Supervisor to investigate. While on the phone I learned of one passenger who injured his leg and one broken cell phone.  Since I was still talking to dispatch I hadn't been able to determine the damage.

http://nict.budocentral.com/images/Angry%20yelling%20man.jpg

I scrambled through the pouch but didn't find any witness cards or pencils. A Supervisor then arrived ANGRY!  He said right off, 'he didn't like the way I talked to dispatch.' This wasn't his usual shift and how I talked to dispatch wasn't his call. I suspected he was either on his second or third shift or working a day off.  I've known him since I've been with Trimet. Always friendly.  Always acknowledged each other and at other times had great conversations.  This was the first time he's investigated anything for me.  Nevertheless, THIS person WASN'T the same one I KNEW.  THIS guy was ANGRY, LOUD, UNPROFESSIONAL and treated me like I was a 'PIECE OF SHIT' in front of our passengers and a cop!

Perhaps he should've been in my shoes, if even for a second and been grateful he didn't arrive to a scene filled with serious injuries or worse.  I was dealing with my own level of safety in terms of when I felt it was SAFE to again get in the seat and Operate the Bus.  My heart was pounding, my breathing was rough and my focus was gone.  Not unusual for this type of incident.  His public rage  against me only exacerbated the problem.

What the public doesn't know is that IN THE REAL WORLD, TRIMET SAFETY ISN'T AS MUCH OF AN ISSUE FOR THEM AS THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE!  But IT IS FOR THE OPERATORS - BUS, RAIL AND MAINTENANCE!  We are the one's who have the Agency's and the community's backs. Always have, always will.  BECAUSE If  SAFETY WAS TRULY AN ISSUE FOR TRIMET, THEN THEY WOULD BE SPENDING THE PUBLIC'S MONEY ON SAFETY, NOT ON EXECUTIVE SALARIES.    Operator's on the safety committee say Harry Saporta, Director of Safety (see youtube) says there's,  'No money!'

The Supervisor asked me to get witness cards filled out. I tried to tell him that the pouch didn't have any and wanted to know if he had some in his truck BUT he cut me off after just a few words and yelled, "DON'T TALK TO ME,  I DON'T WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!"

This went on.  He'd come back and start talking about witness cards again then walk away yelling about something. At one point I asked if he was OK since I'd never seen this side of him.  He went ballistic.  'WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!!!  HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME....!!! Now that I think back this particular exchange  from him felt more like a power trip then one concerned co-worker talking with another.

I was embarrassed for the Supervisor and for Trimet not to mention myself.  I wished I could have taken him aside, privately to see if there was something I could do that would assist him in some way but knew better. He was too intense, too wired!  As I went about getting witness statements with a pen and piece of paper people were reacting to his behavior by reaching out to me asking if I was OK.  Complimenting me on avoiding what could've been.  Several people said they were "calling in" to witness the incident and the Supervisor.  What I know about Trimet is that any witness and or commendation calls over the phone won't arrive to employees who are RED FLAGGED.  What that means is that any employee who's ever reported Trimet to BOLI or sued Trimet and won, is treated differently (retaliated against) then other employees in similar circumstances.

His abuse continued. "DON'T TALK TO ME, I DON'T EVER WANT YOU TO TALK TO ME AGAIN, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR VOICE!!!"  According to the Garage Manager, if you're scheduled to be in service but need to make an emergency call you can be suspended or terminated even if the bus is turned  off and you walk two blocks away. I needed to make a call so I asked the Supervisor for permission. HE YELLED AT ME, "FOR THE THIRD TIME, YES!"  It wasn't the third time, just the first. At that, four men approached and gave me their names and phone numbers.  Not as witness to the incident but as witness specifically to the behavior of the Supervisor. His response to me for permission to make a call was the straw!  They had apparently been watching his interactions with me for quite a while.

The Supervisor informed me that I was taking a taxi back to the garage and that "several" Managers were coming to talk to me and if it was up to him I'd never drive again.  It became very personal. I was quite literally stunned by the whole thing!

When I arrived at the garage an Ass't Manager interviewed me.  After I left he caught up with me. HE SAID THE GARAGE MANAGER CALLED AGAIN INFORMING HIM THAT THE SUPERVISOR HAD NOW CHARGED ME WITH INSUBORDINATION.  He didn't know why but informed me I was officially on paid Administrative Leave.  Not exactly a vacation.  I saw twenty plus years going down the drain and the results are out of my hands.  The only thing that would save me are my witnesses - IF- the company calls them.

No one was talking.  Same crap Peggy Callahan pulled.  Giving orders, making accusations and uninvestigated reprimands that CAN affect my career. My Union Rep later informed me that the Supervisor requested the data pack (video) from the bus BEFORE he could finish his written charge of insubordination.  According to everything I've read about the charge there are 5 specific behaviors which must be met before it can legally be considered. Trimet runs similarly to the world's socio hierarchy in that a BLUE shirt is the working class such as rail, bus operators and maintenance.  A WHITE shirt is professional, managerial or administrative as are Trimet's Road Operations - road supervisors, schedule writers, etc. The suits or skirts combined with brief cases and an ol' stokey are generally from the Elitists.  Truly a socio-economic class system from the first floor on up to the manner in which we're treated,  to the color of our clothes,  to the size of our pay and benefits.

Within this system, a Supervisor's word is ALWAYS taken above that of a subordinate and so on up the chain of command.  An Operator doesn't stand a chance of being believed unless you have witness statements and a manager you can trust to make the calls or you happen to be married to the Director of Operations. He didn't ever give me a direct order in the form of, "I am ordering you..."  about anything that night unless he's talking about the witness cards and pencils.  I did get witnesses - not in our usual form but I got them in the only form that was available to me.

Last Friday my Assistant Manager left a voice message saying that the data pack was BLANKED OUT as in 'not working' so I was cleared and off Administrative leave and life goes on.

I talked with him again last Monday.  He told me he talked with the witness's and found I was telling the truth.
REDEMPTION!

I forgot to ask him what specific charge was filed against me but later e-mailed the question.  Haven't heard back yet. Keeping that type of information secret is an unfair labor practice. If I don't find out by the end of this next week I'll have to file a grievance.

The Supervisor made several mistakes that night.  The most serious of them was that I WASN'T DRUG TESTED.  What that tells me is that the "charge of insubordination" didn't  really exist.  Had it, not only would I have been drug tested but he would have had to generate something IN WRITING - THAT NIGHT - which complied with the 5 specific behaviors of charging insubordination BEFORE they could officially put me on ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE.   I believe that after the data pack was retrieved and viewed,  it was determined that...

1.)  it would end up looking bad for the Supervisor.

2.)  I could capture it from Public Records, so...

3.)  they should probably just destroy it.

And since I have lots of experience with how Trimet operates against those who don't conform to their brand of politics,  they'll continue sleeping well,  believing that I received their message as was intended.  Yes, I got your message.  Thanks for the paid time off but "no", I won't quit blogging about Peggy Callahan's unethical practices to the BOLI Investigator in my continuing series 'WORKPLACE BULLYING',  but thanks anyways!

NOT ME,  I LOVE MY JOB - IT'S THE POLITICS THAT SUCK!!!

***UPDATE***  I don't do this type of work to get a thumbs up because it comes with the territory. But, what I do expect is that my employer including all levels of Management and  Supervisors understand the intensity and risks of it and know they have my back no matter what. That they understand I am not a part of the 1% who screws up and ends up on the news.  That they understand the nature of what we do and treat their Operators / Union workers accordingly and with respect.  That they be required to Operate a Bus and train in revenue service once a month. A day shift and a night shift.  There needs to be a discussion about the manner in which Trimet co-exists with their Union workers.  Large employers, corporations, etc have always used abuse as a means of managing but you know from experience and statistics that mountains have moved through good moral.  What the public reads or hears about Trimet are formal prepared marketed statements from the legal department through overpaid spokespeople, but what the public experiences about Trimet comes from that moment when we open the door.

The damage done to our CUSTOMER SERVICE by the Supervisor that night may not be repairable, even  over time so you might want to enroll him in a few classes or back to a blue shirt if his  behavior that night was a repeat performance!

INSUBORDINATION - MY ASS!!!

At 10:44 pm on Saturday March 9th, 2013 as I was driving Line 4 south bound at SE 7th and Mill at 30 mph, with a full standing load, a car moving from the left suddenly appeared a foot or two in front of the bike rack. I SLAMMED the brakes, SLAMMED the horn and watched as my customers flew in the air and into each other as the little white car continued through the intersection unscathed. I yelled out asking if anyone was hurt, if anyone needed medical and then called Dispatch.  I didn't see the car until it was directly in front of me because it was hidden behind the HUGE left side clam shell mirror.

Jason Bynon, Dispatcher

The Dispatcher sounded sleepy, irritated, as though I had woken him. Later that night after talking with him over the phone from Center Street,  I realized he had a natural sleepy drawl and was new to that position. He asked if there were injuries and if I was OK. I told him there were a few and that I was not hurt. He instructed me to continue on my route. I informed him that I needed to check on the customers and that I was shaken and needed time to recover.

The Dispatch system was also new. It timed out after a minute, which I didn't know. There were times when it just went into a black hole - no response. I wanted to get to my customers but the handset being less then a foot from it's cradle wouldn't let me. I hadn't been cleared to use my cell phone so I tried to continue the conversation as best as possible. When I didn't get a response back I got out of my seat to check on customers and injuries.  The dispatcher then came back through the internal microphone. When I tried to respond he was gone and visa versa. We were both frustrated because this was an obvious emergency and we couldn't communicate. But he got the point. In the meantime a cop stopped so he talked with dispatch and helped out. The thing is, when an emergency happens there's a list of questions dispatch has to ask. How many injuries, what are the nature of them, how many men, women, children, ages, description of injuries or broken property. Obviously, the Operator needs to be able to assess the situation and evaluate who needs what. It can't be done from the Operators seat. In retrospect I shoulda evaluated the situation first then called Dispatch. I shoulda done it from my cell phone instead of waiting for permission to use it. Trimet has become anal with regard to cell phone use and emergencies. The main thing was the car driver survived unscathed, the injuries to our customers were minor and limited. It also helped that the bus was packed - bodies flying into bodies - softened the blow! And I was proud of my ability to pull this off in spite of the fact that my employer does everything they can to re-direct my focus to their barrage of bullying intimidating tactics because they don't really understand the nature of this business and what the consequences of their actions could create when they try to force an Operator to drive immediately after their abuse!  It's become a game - they purposely provoke you then give you an ultimatum. Either drive or suffer time-loss.

Then this guy showed up:

Myles Vaylon, Road Supervisor
$87,980.64, per 2012 W2

Then THIS:

A week later after it was all done and presumably over with,  I was back in a bus, a Station Agent that I was particularly fond of made a point of letting me know that he was no longer interested in the joking small talk we had enjoyed with each other over the years. It was because of  Vaylons' ACID report. My friend was disappointed in me as were several others who also read it. It was sent to virtually every department within the system. I decided I needed to see it. I had asked several times prior why I was even charged with insubordination, as the links above attest and each time I was told by Mark Poulson that he, "didn't know" and neither did Evelyn Warren. But they did know as they were part of that process.  In a grievance meeting she said...

Evelyn Warren,
Garage Manager, Center
$82,141.71 per 2012 W2

... it was essentially, 'none of my business'. She refused to answer questions except for playing word games. Click the second link above or THIS and scroll half way down to the conversation between she and I,  just below my picture.

ACID is an acronym for something. lol  According to the form it's a Field Ops Supervisor Incident Report.  In the pre-filing grievance hearing I asked to see it and was told I could have a copy but when I tried I was told I couldn't. I then asked this guy...

Mark Poulson, Center St. Assistant Manager
$49,618.52 per 2012 W2

Don't know why it's so low, perhaps he started mid-year.
His yearly salary would normally be similar to:
Leonard Lambert, Asst Mgr, Powell $68,484.34 per 2012 W2
Liza Mitzel, Ass't Mgr, Center $67,498.99 per 2012 W2

...he said, "Absolutely not!!!" When I asked why he told me because "it's private no one can see it." He said it goes in a file. I then asked if I could see the report he wrote from his investigation and he started laughing and said, "You gotta be kidding, no way!!!"

THEY THINK THEY'RE GONNA SCARE ME OFF BY
TREATING ME LIKE THIS:

AS IF I WERE SOME INSOLENT,  MISBEHAVED LITTLE GIRL WHO DESERVES TO BE BEATEN UP BY THAT BIG 'OL IMPORTANT MANAGER THUG THING THEY GOT GOIN' ON OVER THERE!

BUT, YA KNOW

Betty Lindley, 1914

THAT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN
DON'T YA?!!

BECAUSE
I SIMPLY WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT BEHAVIOR FROM ANYONE, LET ALONE THIS RANKIST GANG OF BULLY'S!!!

Trimet's socio-economic class structure and Managerial system is primarily identified by the clothing they / we wear. Blue shirts are front line workers. White shirts are Supervisors as in Road, Trainers, Dispatchers, Station Agents, etc. Managers are identified by their well dressed attire, most of whom or so it appears drive large gas guzzling SUV's, Mercedes, BMW's etc. Ya know, the one's who have a need to be identified by their 'look good'.

Blue shirts are not typically believed regardless of how many witness accounts / statements are turned in. Managers and White shirts are always believed over blue.  (As is exemplified in my situation here with Myles Vaylon, Dispatcher Jason Bynon and Mark Poulson). Years ago, under Clyde Earl's regime we weren't allowed Civil or Constitutionally protected rights. We weren't allowed to access anything through Public Records to defend ourselves if the need arose and everything and everyone was secretive and sworn to secrecy. There was so much fear throughout the Agency that most employees with strong issues ended up backing down or quitting. Retaliation is one of the things Trimet uses to control their workers, and they're very good at it.  Clyde Earl managed the workers through bullying and abuse and his ways crossed over to how Hayden Talbot conducted business as well. We're still burdened with Earl and Talbott's ways because most of todays Managers were handpicked in their image.

BUT
THE TIDE'S BEEN TURNING..

CHANGE IS KNOCKIN'

LISTEN TO THIS

THEN

READ VAYLON'S REPORT

THEN

READ POULSON'S REPORT.

The mp3 is from that night. It's the only call I'm aware of that was captured from dispatch. Poulson's report says there's another between me and dispatch. I've put in a Public Records Search for it. Vaylon writes in his report below (2nd page, 1st line), "She was yelling so loud Dispatch could hear her."  NEVER HAPPENED so I will be looking forward to receiving that one as well.

I've posted BOTH reports below, even though Poulson tried to prevent me from getting them.

What they and the links above prove is:

1.) Vaylon didn't turn in page two of his ACID  to public records (the one that says I asked for a "hug") until he was recently contacted by Trimet's Public Records Department.
2.) I'm cleared of all charges Vaylon made against me via the witnesses.
3.) Vaylon has a problem with anger and honesty.
4.) Warren has a problem with honesty.
5.) Poulson has a problem with honesty.

VAYLON'S REPORT:

I was gonna respond to some of his remarks but they're outrageous, so much so that I decided I didn't wanna get dragged into it any further. When I saw the 'give me a hug' thing on the 2nd page I decided my lawyer can deal with them.

Besides, Poulson's report cleared me via the witness statements.  Notice he says, "After the fact" but I gave him the witnesses following my arrival at the garage that night.  "After the fact" is a bunch 'a baloney because Vaylon charged me with insubordination AFTER Poulson already had witness information.
Click for zoom
Screen shot from Poulson's report.

There were 10 to 12 additional witnesses but Trimet hasn't given me the SIP's. These are people who called in days and weeks later but their accounts of what happened won't get counted because of on-going retaliation. TM doesn't give me commendations that are taken over the phone. No record. I DIDN'T EVEN GET A 'THANK YOU FROM TRIMET!" I DIDN'T EVEN GET CREDIT FOR THE COMMENDATIONS FROM THE FOUR WITNESS STATEMENTS THAT NIGHT! What I got was ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE and CHARGED WITH INSUBORDINATION!

At one point I was walking around the incident scene with a piece of paper and a pen getting witness names and numbers. I tried to ask Myles if he had witness cards in the truck but he kept yelling at me.

POULSON'S REPORT ON THE INCIDENT:

I wasn't "very distraught and emotional as a result of the near-miss..." Give me a break! I've been operating buses for nearly 21 years and have had many close calls. I was UPSET and EMBARRASSED because of the manner and the language Vaylon used on me in front of my customers!  He didn't care who was there, or what he said or how he behaved. He appeared to be having a temper tantrum so I removed myself from him. What could possibly make Poulson even THINK he, not just COULD,  but what RIGHT DOES HE HAVE to define MY feelings?!! Feelings are not facts and this was afterall, supposed to be a FACTUAL INVESTIGATIVE REPORT.

Poulson received this from Vaylon "the general consensus" and Warren directed  him what to do with it. If you know anything about how Trimet treats their employees, it's easy to see how they put this together in order to make it look like I was insubordinate. The last paragraph is in direct conflict with the last bullet. The data pack was blank and dispatch was inaudible. The only thing they couldn't get around were the witness statements.  Page one says he talked to 4 witnesses, then he later says he talked to 3. No matter, what's important are their statements because they have no motive other then to tell the truth.  Arrow on the right. lol   Arrow at the bottom of the page:

If all three witnesses, as Poulson stated,  agreed that

"Supervisor Vaylon was yelling, overreacted, and would not let Op. Fox speak."

Then how can he say, "...overall, it was an ugly exchange."

That's a contradiction!

First paragraph, Last sentence, "Supervisor Vaylon did not seem to realize how upset Op. Fox was and, in general, dismissed her emotional condition,"

Third bullet, "The Dispatcher's tone was received by Op. Fox as, "Oh. it's you again. Why are you bothering me and why are you making such a big deal out of this?"

Fifth bullet, "The exchange between the Operator and the Supervisor should not have taken place adjacent to the passengers, and both of them allowed their emotions to override their professionalism."

No wonder Poulson didn't want me seeing the report.  Instead of presenting the FACTS he instead goes on a tirade about feelings, emotions and an assumably "ugly" exchange that, according to the witnesses never happened:

Screen shot, page two

Seriously, If "Supervisor Vaylon would not let Op. Fox speak", then how did it become an "UGLY EXCHANGE?"

Mark Poulson

Screen shot, page 3

"OP Fox has a history of being confrontational and both the Dispatcher and the Supervisor knew it. They had dealt with her before and were not going to go out of their way for her."

I met Dispatcher Jason years ago at North Terminal. We visited a few times.  I remembered him because he was a nice guy. Haven't seen him since.

Myles and I have know each other as 'work friends' since we both started. We haven't ever had unkind words or feelings for each other, that I was aware of.  We always acknowledged each other or visited briefly throughout the years. He arrives at work when I leave. This was the first time I experienced him as a Supervisor. I assumed he was having a rough night when this happened because he was working an RDO and not his usual early early am shift.  I did ask him, early on and privately if he was "ok" because he seemed out of character. After reading what he wrote I have nothing more then pity for him or for anyone who would go to such extremes to make up the stories he did about me that night.  As my witnesses said, "he was yelling, overreacting and wouldn't let me talk. There's always been a lot of chatter about his temper but I never gave it a thought until I experienced it myself.

As far as my history of being CONFRONTATIONAL - you got that right. I'm not some dumb bimbo who follows the status quo. If you think you're gonna retaliate against me and try to silence what I write on this blog then I'm gonna fight back. If you want what I write to change then you'd better change your ways of doing business so I won't have anything to write. If you got something to say then say it but don't steal money from my pay check or make up lies about me running red lights or honking my horn or charge me with insubordination or mandate me into meetings where your hired hit people work me over then expect me to Operate a bus on the streets all the while your PR department is promoting "Safety is the core value..." to the very public you serve!

Screen shot, page 3

"They had dealt with her before and were not going to go out of their way for her."

Unless I'm mistaken, Poulson is saying here that two white shirts and one suit (him) believe I should be treated differently then my co-workers under similar circumstances.  Right?

MISSING TIME SLIPS!!! TIME TO AUDIT?!!

The irony of it is...

... had Lilia Montoya (Center Street Ass't Manager) actually investigated Grievance 8597, and wrote those findings in her Letter of Determination,  I wouldn't have had reason to contact payroll verifying the 'date of occurrence'. As a result I found, quite by accident that the time slip submitted for the meeting that day didn't  make it to payroll.  Funny how karma works.

An audit of time slips associated with mandatory meetings from management needs to happen.  Time slip pay should be listed in a separate category on pay stubs.  Clearly, as in this case it's too easy for a Manager to remove 'em without a way for us to cross check.

Looks like Mildred and the girls are at it again (oh, but wait - there's a guy too).

The Silent Epidemic: Workplace Bullying

"Workplace bullying is the silent epidemic
Workplace bullying has become a silent epidemic North America, one that has huge hidden costs in terms of employee well being and productivity. Also known as psychological harassment or emotional abuse, bullying involves the conscious repeated effort to wound and seriously harm another person not with violence, but with words and actions. Bullying damages the physical, emotional and mental healthy of the person who is targeted.
The workplace bully abuses power, brings misery to his/her target and endeavors to steal the target's self-confidence. Bullies often involve others using many tactics such as blaming for errors, unreasonable work demands, insults, putdowns, stealing credit, threatening job loss, and discounting accomplishments.
How serious is the bullying problem in the workplace?

In two surveys by the Workplace Bullying Institute (WBI) and Zogby International, where bullying was defined as "repeated mistreatment: sabotage by others that prevented work from getting done, verbal abuse, threatening conduct, intimidation and humiliation," 35% of workers experienced bullying first hand, and 62% of the bullies were men. A Harris Interactive poll conducted in 2011 revealed that 34% of women reported being bullied in the workplace.

Who are these bullies? The WBI concluded that while perpetrators can be found in all ranks within organizations, the vast majority are bosses-managers, supervisors, and executives.
What's the impact of bullying behavior?
Bullies create a terrible toll within an organization. Their behavior leads to increased levels of stress among employees, higher rates of absenteeism and higher than normal attrition. Because bullies often get results by getting more short-term production out of employees, they are tolerated.  One study by John Medina showed that workers stressed by bullying performed 50% worse on cognitive tests. Other studies estimate the financial costs of bullying at more than $200 billion per year.
A study by Dr. Noreen Tehrani, who counseled victims of violence in Northern Ireland, and soldiers returning from overseas combat and victims of workplace, concluded that bullying exhibited similar psychological and physical symptoms-nightmares and extreme anxiety, and a variety of physical ailments."

"According to the WBI, 40% of the targets of bulling never told their employers, and of those that did, 62% reported that they were ignored."
